Glorious Mystery Full Album
Purchase the most recent Album by Dr. Carly York, including six tracks rooted in centuries of Catholic tradition:
Glorious Things are Spoken of You (Adam Bartlett antiphon with St. Meinrad chant)
Salve Regina (Simple Tone Latin Chant)
Alma Redemptoris Mater (Simple Tone Latin Chant)
Ave Regina Caelorum (Simple Tone Latin Chant)
Regina Caeli (Simple Tone Latin Chant)
Magnificat (Solemn Latin Chant in Mode 8)
Glorious Mystery represents a deeply personal journey for Dr. York, who was drawn to create this collection after her own conversion to Catholicism required overcoming initial hesitations about Marian devotion. "As a convert to the Catholic faith, one of the biggest blocks I had to overcome on my journey was understanding Catholic teaching on the Blessed Virgin Mary," York explains. "With this album, I wanted to share the example of Mary's faith through songs dedicated to her honor as a way to inspire all of us who hear this music to be devoted disciples of Christ, just as she was.
What makes Glorious Mystery particularly significant is its dual purpose in Catholic worship. York explains, "I wanted to record these four ancient Marian hymns for two reasons. Firstly, to encourage people to listen or sing along with them to augment their own personal prayer and devotional life at home. Secondly, I wanted to introduce these hymns as accessible and sing-able for public Mass celebrations.
